About Us - RYMY Consulting

For construction and industrial projects — from design to site execution

RYMY Consulting brings together structural and steel structure design, BIM and Trimble expertise, as well as site management and project support into one practical service offering. We step in when schedules are tight, multiple stakeholders are involved and delivery needs to stay under control — on site or remotely.

  • Experience across construction projects: design, BIM and site execution
  • Operating in Finland, the Nordics and across the EU
  • Based in Urjala, Pirkanmaa, Finland — working flexibly on site and remotely

Why RYMY exists

In many construction projects, information and decision-making move slower than execution. Our role is to bring clarity to that chain — what needs to be done, in which order and with what information — so that design, production and site teams move in the same direction.

What motivates us is the moment when a project starts running smoothly without constant firefighting or clarification work.

What we do in practice

Structural and Steel Structure Design

  • Practical, buildable solutions and clear documentation — delivered in 2D or 3D depending on project size and phase.

BIM Services

  • BIM coordination, model integration and practical workflows that make models useful for decision-making, production and site execution.

Software Services and Training

  • Tekla Structures, Trimble Connect and Solibri environments: implementation, integrations, key-user support and training.

Site Management & Project Support (on-site / remote)

  • Support for daily project and site execution: coordination, project overview, workflow rhythm and delivery assurance. Especially suited for construction and industrial projects where changes and dependencies are part of everyday work.

How we work

  1. Clear project overview: Project goals, stakeholders, information flows and risk areas.

  2. Ground rules: Information management, model structure, review practices and communication rhythm.

  3. Execution: Design, coordination or site management — based on the agreed role.

  4. Verification: Production readiness, clarity and compatibility.

  5. Continuous improvement: Addressing root causes instead of temporary fixes.

OUR STORY

RYMY was founded in 2021 from a practical need: to bring BIM workflows, digital design practices, production and construction sites closer together. As the company grew and services expanded, RM Ylimäki Oy evolved into RYMY Consulting.

We are a small team — and that is an advantage. Work progresses efficiently, responsibilities remain clear and services can be adapted quickly to match client needs and changing project demands.

Innovation, solution-focused thinking and flexibility

We approach every project with genuine curiosity and actively look for new ways to improve both our clients' operations and the wider industry. Our services are tailored to real project needs, focusing on solutions that work in practice and deliver measurable value.

Continuous learning and development are part of how we operate, and when needed, we build new services to meet evolving market demands.

Listening and working together

We work closely with both our internal team and our clients. By carefully mapping needs, listening and asking the right questions, we develop the most effective solutions together. Collaboration and open dialogue form the foundation of successful projects.

Bachelor of Construction Management (BEng).
Over 20 years in the construction industry and more than 15 years working with BIM coordination and digital models.

Background includes roles in engineering consultancies (WSP Finland, A-Insinöörit), Tekla Structures key-user positions and development engineering at Skanska, where BIM practices were advanced from both design and production perspectives.

Structural and steel structure design experience spans over a decade across consulting firms and independent work through RYMY Consulting. Additional experience includes collaboration with municipal projects, infrastructure management and building inspection roles.

What this means for our clients

You gain a partner with experience across the full spectrum of construction — from client and developer perspectives to design, production and inspection. We understand the realities of design, fabrication and on-site execution, and help coordinate communication between stakeholders so that decision-making remains clear and efficient.

Where we operate

Primarily in Finland, the Nordics and across the EU. Work can be delivered on site or remotely — often a hybrid approach works best, with critical phases on site and continuous coordination handled remotely.

Frequently asked questions

When is it beneficial to involve site leadership or project support?
When schedules are tight, dependencies are complex or the execution phase requires a reliable coordinator to maintain situational awareness and keep progress moving.

Do you provide both design and BIM coordination?
Yes. We can act as a designer, coordinator or support an existing team — depending on project needs.

Can services be delivered remotely?
Yes. Delivery can be remote or on site, and a hybrid model is often the most efficient.

Do you have practical Tekla Structures experience?
Yes — experience includes design work, key-user roles and development of working practices.

What kind of clients do you typically work with?
Construction companies, engineering consultancies, industrial operators and organisations — especially in projects with multiple stakeholders and high delivery pressure.

How does collaboration start?
We begin with a short assessment (project scope, schedule, roles and available information) and propose a clear way forward.

Tell us three things and we’ll respond quickly with a proposal

1. Project or location 2. Schedule and current phase 3. Where you need support
